Add Some Flare to your Feed
by Rick • Filed under Optimize • November 30, 2006
A while back we developed something called FeedFlare. FeedFlare allows you to add small text links (the “Flare” - those of you who have seen Office Space should appreciate the reference) to the bottom of your feed items. The FeedFlare can be anything from “E-mail This” to “Add to Del.icio.us” to “Digg This!” and they can all be added with a couple clicks of the mouse.
Just head into the FeedBurner dashboard for the feed you want to add FeedFlare to. Then, head to the optimize tab and look for the FeedFlare button on the left side of the page. Next, click on the FeedFlare button to add your flares and arrange them. Lastly, save the changes and, voila, you have FeedFlare! Now your users will be able to push your content further out for you and drive more people back to your site.
You can also use the FeedFlare API to create your own FeedFlare. You can read more about that in one of our past tips.
