About the Producer
Dean Whitbread started one of the first web design businesses in the UK back in 1994, with a philosophy of making the internet approachable and understandable to the non-specialist. He helped to pioneer online audio and video, developed interactive software, internet communities, and has produced work for numerous commercial clients.
In 2003 Dean formed a below-the-line new media company Funk with Mark Crook. Funk makes the award-winning John Cleese podcast, as well as numerous other less funny but equally good projects, including online interactive events, documentary, citizen and social media.
After ten years of internet, and three years of Funk, Dean decided to share the love, and Talking Voices was born.
Show Notes
Dean Whitbread examines the truth in J.G. Ballard’s prediction that, “In the future, everyone will be living in their own TV studio.” Podcasting has made it easier than ever before to close the gap between content publishers and their audience. What effect does that have on creativity? Along with his own thoughts on the matter, Dean interviews several podcasters in the UK about the role of creativity in their production process.
