Network Coordinator FAQs

What is a FeedBurner Network coordinator?

Since we all agree that you know yourselves better than we could ever possibly hope to, FeedBurner Networks are managed by FeedBurner publishers. Power to the people, we say! By that, we mean that a FeedBurner publisher volunteers to be the rally monkey and serve as organizer, communicator and gatekeeper for that network.

How does one become a Network coordinator?

Publisher who are part of initial beta test are eligible to be Network Coordinators. Simply click the “My Networks” link and select “Create a network” to begin.

What are the main responsibilities of the role?

Coordinators are responsible for recruiting new network members who publish similar content and generally keeping the quality of the network up to the standards of the participating publishers. Coordinators should be comfortable doing publisher outreach, but also be willing to deny participation if the feed content is not a great match with the rest of the network.

How do I create my own network?

Click the “My Networks” link in the upper left-hand corner of the FeedBurner homepage (or MyFeeds page).

What type of information will be required during the Network creation process?

You’ll need to have a few of your ducks in order to set up your network. Specifically:

What if I want to invite a publisher into the network who is not yet using FeedBurner?

If the publisher needs help setting up their feeds, put them in touch with our friendly Publisher Services team using this form.

My Network is also part of FAN. Why is the network CPM $3 and how do I change it?

All FeedBurner Networks start at this dollar amount. FeedBurner manually optimizes pricing based on network performance and market demand.

What’s a “Logo URL”? What do I do with this?

FeedBurner encourages its publishers to brand their networks with a descriptive name and logo. Network logos must be hosted on a Web and be accessible from a web URL. Once you’ve posted the image somewhere, simply paste the link to that image in the “Logo URL” field.

Do coordinators get any special kickbacks?

Network coordinators do not receive additional payola, but they do have the satisfaction of knowing that they are helping to build a vibrant online community.

As a coordinator, am I responsible for paying out advertising revenue to the folks in my network?

When ad revenue is generated, FeedBurner pays participants according to its standard pay cycle. Coordinators do not have to do any additional work.

Where do I find the code and icons to insert on my blog or site?

Sign in to your FeedBurner account, select the “My Networks” link in the upper left-hand corner of the page and click the link to your network. Publicity services are located on the left side of the page.
