Headline Animator Overhaul, Part 2
We are a people who like to provide clues to what we're up to, so when we write "Part 1" in a post title, that is our way of signaling the market that there will be other parts, possibly starting with a Part 2. And lo, here we are with the next phase of the Headline Animator Overhaul from brushed metal ugly duckling of the widget world to multi-functional, multi-purpose content sharing tool.
There were lots of publisher requests for default themes, so we've brought the following new favors to the Animator party: nine, count 'em, nine new Theme variations to bring added variety to how you choose to boost subscription to your content. There are new sizes and styles for advertisers, blogs, podcasts, vlogs/videocasts/v-is-for-victorycasts, and a special little number we like to call the Seasonal Theme. This theme's background will update for you automatically as time moves on, with apologies to our friends in the Southern Hemisphere right now for whom this will certainly make no sense:
(If you're visiting this page from the future, the scene that our Seasonal Theme displayed when this post was first written has almost certainly changed. Also, we like your pointy hat.)
Haven't yet grabbed a Headline Animator for yourself or someone you love? No problem! Head to the “Publicize” tab for any feed you've burned and click the Headline Animator option to get started.
What's next? A "Part 3" bet is smart money. We have more fun stuff in the works, including stats tracking, the ability to save multiple Animators associated with a single feed, as well as much greater control over the information you choose to display.
Special Bonus Announcement: All Headline Animators are most likely 100% iPhone compliant! If you have a problem getting the Headline Animator to work on your iPhone, please dial 1-877-FeedBurner (remember to use the capital “B” or you may be connected to those losers downstairs in shipping).

Wow, you guys rock!
My Headline Animator does not seem to be displaying anymore? I've tried the seasonal and the e-mail signature one and nada. Is this just a temporary glitch or do I need to change the code now?
Nevermind, I just had to force Firefox to reload everything and I cleared my Cache. Looks really cool too, still need to do a little tweaking on the font size, but cool!
This looks fab, can't wait for part three.
But... I can't seem to look at the other options without it erasing my current settings?

Nice additions guys - well done.
Any chance we could have a variant which is 120px wide and another which is 160px?
I ask because it would make them fit standard blog sidebars.
Keep it coming !
I would suggest you to offer different signature codes rather than a single code. sometimes i feel it would be better to have different codes for different forums.
I'm using FeedZilla instead as each entry launches to the actual post, whereas in Feedburner each entry just launches to the home page.

Another nifty tool is Feed O Style...I'm keen to use Feedburner, but....

Plus with the other services, when you click on the entry to launches to the HTML, not the feed landing page.
Hi Dick, Eric, Matt and the others, Congratulations on the progress with the Headline Animator.
Apparently you so much liked the fancy black background design with the RSS icon on the left that I created for CleverClogs that you made it available to all FeedBurner users. I'm honored (hint, hint).
Really, it's almost perfect. These are my feature wishes for incarnation #3:
flexible number of headlines
multi-line texts and line-wrapping
inclusion of the description field
Could you also shed some light on the current status of the problems with HA embedded in e-mail messages sent and received through Outlook 2007?
Hi Guys (again),
Is it possible for the animator to support animated gifs?
gfl
gfl - if you use an animated gif as your background image, only the first frame will display.
Thanks Traci
That is what I'd noticed, was hoping it could support all frames at some point.

Hi
I want to use the e-mail theme on my e-mail but a different animator on one of my web sites.
How do I do that?
Thanks
Sam -
While multiple headline animators are on the roadmap, right now, you'd need to create a second feed so that you can have a second headline animator style associated with the feed. (You can still modify the HTML to point both versions to the same place.)
Hope that helps.
