We're Doing it Wrong
Over at Silicon Beat, Jim Pitkow from Moreover announces an RSS management service about which he says (and I quote): "Basically, it's FeedBurner done right".
We look forward to their corrections and improvements.

What an odd comment! There will always be companies trying to be the next iteration of a popular service, but that always assumes the original company is sluggish and falling behind. Keep at it guys! Having a target painted on your back can be a very good thing!
Nice to see that you're taking it well, Dick. :)
Can't wait to see what form this nonspecific "done right" takes. Funny thing...about a month ago I divested myself of my last Moreover feeds, after deciding that their approach to advertising was intolerable even as a research topic.

That is kinda odd.. :)
But I'm not using FeedBurner because I want to have ads in my feeds anyways.
I'm using it because it has a cool format converter, furl and flickr integration, enclosure support,..., in short: it simply rocks!
There is a lot that could be done to make feedburner better, read your forums to see how
Bob, we totally agree, and as you can see from the forums, we DO read them and reply to every post as soon as we can! There's no question about it, there's a ton we can do to make FeedBurner better!
ps, you have the same name as the former presidential candidate! Do people tell you that all the time?
By the way, I signed up for Feed{Copy} today. Nothing there at the moment, I'll keep you updated, but I'm sure you are doing the same.
In all fairness, the quote is being taken out of context. Dick and his team do a fine job and have a great service.
The point I was making is this: publishers should have an easy, self-service way to monetize their work as well as benefit from feed management services. Furthermore, they should have the ability to choose whether they wish to insert advertising into the content field of their RSS and/or as an individual post.
This is what was implied by the quote - nothing more, nothing less.
I just wish you would hurry up and get these new features up and running :-)
Like amazon.co.uk support and 'everything' else!
Feedburner is a terrific service. It has certainly made my life easier. On the other hand, perhaps a little competition will keep you on your toes. I say, "bring it on!"
I was more of the opinion that FeedBurner was BlogMatrix done right.
Just started using feed burner and found it quite easy to set up!
Some people need a slap - unable to be original enough to understand what he is told the thing does he mentions what the tech-guys are emulating. Insider style info: no chance on these guys being used by me - that don't understand the market... that's bad.
That is funny Dick. I was just thinking the other day, damn, FeedBurner has sure got it right. I hear a lot of people telling me how they are going to revolutionize RSS feeds, but in the end, what they have to offer is nothing close. Of course someone will break-out, but it's likely the one who has the most front-line experience and is most focused on it will take it there, not the one who is trying to spot-fill temporary shortcomings they perceive from afar.
Keep up the good work! You've got the pole position.
That's funny. I fired moreover about a year ago because their RSS spam sucks. I recently found FeedBurner and thought "Finally, somebody gets it!" Keep up the great work guys.
My take on why Moreover's RSS Spam Sucks:

I'm certainly grateful for the free service provided by FeedBurner!
Many thanks.
(Only 1 person takes my RSS feed, but that's not the point)
