Hi,

I'm using Greymatter blog software, which has no built-in ping function. I've tried to figure out how to do it, but it seems rather complicated to me.

Someone in a gm forum said he just uses a modified bookmark to ping a server. That would be fine to me. Do you know what he means and can you tell me how to modify the link?

Forgive me but I have not understood anything which you have written in the information you have provided.
What is it? What do I do with it? Is it meant for people like me? Or is it for those people who are more technically capable than I am? The latter probably is more likely the case.

I'm using Google's Blogger for my blog and can't find where I can add the code to auto ping feed burner when my log is updated.

Do I need to add the code to the template somewhere?

For those who are using the old MetaPhilter software, you can add it in the mp/config.php file either through direct editing or by launching mp/configure.php and finding the relevant setting.

geeklog 1.3.x can ping Feedburner directly with a little code massaging. See my posting in the cool hacks board. It only works for new posts though.

I'm running on Textpattern. I notice my feed hasn't been updated in well over 12 hours, so if there's a way to manually ping you, I could use help. Thanks.

Hi, I use blogger/blogspot. Would this work with their system? I use to be in the itunes directory as of July 5th then shortly after I can no longer find my podcast in their listing after using Feedburner's new iTunes inclusion in the SmartCast section. Help!

My feed has not been updating automatically. I use blogger- I know I must be doing something wrong but I can't figure it out.

This is awesome, especially for a beginner like me. At first I thoguht RSS and all that was too complicated, but FeedBurner made it simple. Thanks a bunch, guys!

Do you publish settings to ping FeedBurner directly using the XML-RPC protocol? The only thing that I can find on your site is how to use your webform or Ping-o-Matic. Thanks!

I received this error when using the ping form tonight.

Your Ping resulted in an Error "Exceeded Access Limits - Try again Later"

Any ideas what access limits I exceeded?

I currently use a homemade blogging system. Currently I ping pingomatic at http://rpc.pingomatic.com/RPC2 (the standard weblogs.com rpc interface), although they are currently having problems. I'd like to add a feedburner pinger, to ensure that my system is automatically pinging feedburner as well. What URL do I use? rpc.feedburner.com?

Is the FeedBurner ping service working? Nearly every time I ping from the MovableType interface, I get the error message that "Ping 'http://ping.feedburner.com' failed: HTTP error: 405 HTTP method POST is not supported by this URL".

Even if this fails, when FB sees an update, does it then send out pings via PingShot (assuming I've enabled it)?

Could some one point to resouces on how to ping search engines on making an update? Looking at the above contect I am not sure I follow.

To ping us to update a FeedBurner feed the moment your TypePad blog is updated, you might consider following the instructions shown here (http://www.technorati.com/developers/ping/typepad.html), but instead of entering http://rpc.technorati.com/rpc/ping, enter http://ping.feedburner.com to set FeedBurner as a ping target.

Also, don't forget about the recent FeedBurner/Typepad integration: http://www.sixapart.com/typepad/news/2006/06/typepad_and_feedburner.html

Now you can automate this pinging task using Autopinger.com. Just set your blogs and podcasts and you're done! Everything is Free!

If you are not using a blog or CMS which supports pinging out of the box, here is a "small" code snippet (PHP) to include in your "posting process" to update FeedBurner:

Adjust the title and URL, and off you go. The code relies on the PEAR package XML_RPC.

Hi, okay I'm using Wordpress. Under Options>Write>Update Services I have these three services:

The two first services are standard in my WP-installation. The feedburner-ping-service is new. It works well. But the one thing I'm missing is, that my new entry will not be displayed at http://wordblog.de/. Bevor I used feedburner this was the case. Now, nothing happens. Why?

I use a customised Blod designed based on architecture of WordPress and Blogger combined. The ping of Feedburner is not working. Please suggest where can i get more technical documentation on RPC ping.
